We are developing Toplita Technology Park - the first HYPERSCALE & largest data center complex in Romania with the lowest carboon footprint possible
Demand for IT capacity continues to grow rapidly across the globe, which has driven the need for more standardized, industrialized approaches to data center construction and component assembly. We have scrambled to apply new processes and disciplines, expand and re-organize supply chains, deploy prefabricated components, and, where possible, reduce cost overheads, variation and complexity.
These approaches have led us to the adoption of a different concept for design, location and technologies used. Unique in our approach, we will be able to cool our data center with year round full or partial free cooling. Mechanical cooling will only be required to top-up the partial cooling element only when the outdoor temperature are excessively high. Another area enabling reduced power usage is the use of state-of-the art UPS and electrical systems.
The PUE achievable for a specific data center will depend on local climate, including outside air temperature, humidity and risk for airborne pollution. Taking into account all the specific aspects of the industry, we decided to analyze possible locations for the construction of a data center in Romania. The “winning” location was identified in Toplița Municipality, Harghita County, as it met all the necessary criteria to obtain a high efficiency .
